New Captain at the Helm
The Pittsburgh Penguins have hired a new GM. It comes at a strange time of the season, with the hockey club holding onto the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. The hockey club is hoping by hiring an experienced veteran GM, that the boys in the room will respond with elevated play at the time of year when paychecks are earned. Gm Rick Bourque was introduced to the press earlier today and had this to say.

" If it aint broke dont fix it. Having said that we are in the last playoff spot not at the top of the latter, so I reserve the right to make changes that can have a lasting effect on the team moving into the coming seasons."
Sim Perspective
Hi ya'all this is my first STHS league after 15 years of playing FHL, so I am excited to be part of the league. I like the nuances that the league Management have put into play, NHL rerates which is interesting and keeps you connected to the NHL, which is what its all about, the set up of the reallocation draft, really cool idea, expanding to include Las Vegas very nice. It will take me a day or two o get the rules down and figure out a new Editor, but thats minor stuff, I will ask a lot of questions..lol
I have had a very successful career in Sim hockey and I know how to coach up a veteran team, a defensive team, an offensive team, but the last few years I have really taken pride in building a team through youth. When you first join a league that's hard to do as you work your way through what's on the board for you, so it may take a few years...er...seasons to get the team that reflects what I like. I am lucky I have some nice pieces in Pittsburgh, so that should help.
I have no sacred cows concerning players, its always about value, so I have no trouble trading anyone. But as a general rule I keep my youth and usually try to add to that pool. You will find I can be easily reached to talk trade, even if we don't see eye to eye on value its always good to get to know each other for future business. As time goes on you will find that I am a reasonable fair trader, looking for win win trades. I am usually on daily and my door and phone are always open to you. I look forward to having a lot fun and an excellent Sim experience in the league.
