AP - Cheesy headline, check. Roster with numerous weapons and assets to create a whole lot of hell for the league, check. Old management out and new management in, check. The Anaheim Ducks had made it official only a short while ago that they were going to part with current leadership and spread their wings and go a new direction. Despite having one of the strongest records and rosters on the ice today, it seems as though management, the league, nor Ducks ownership truly seen eye to eye with the previous management. With numerous occasions where it seemed they planned to blow up the roster and rebuild and countless trade offers and deals proposed to league which seen the Ducks lose heavily in all aspects, enough has finally become enough.
With the firing of previous management, ownership made it clear that the team wanted to head in a more confident direction. During the statement, they did not say what they expected - which players were to be moved, staff to be relieved or what they expected from new management. In fact, they left it pretty vague while only stating that they want a man with a plan. Furthering onto that, they want someone who is going to put heart and time into the organization. Being a manager at any level, to bring success to an organization, you need a vision and a plan. A vision to paint the picture as to what the team will become, and then the plan to achieve it. Previous management lacked 95% of what ownership truly needed. Without much delay, all things came to an end (thankfully for the Duck fans). Earlier today, the Ducks hired General Manager J. Banack to the organization and he's extremely grateful for the opportunity.
"We're going to go a little off-base here and quit the role-play shit. I've never experienced a GM league which was not VIA the portal. HOWEVER, I have great experiences with forums as that's where all the player sim leagues take place and I've been part of one for roughly 30 seasons. I am extremely excited and grateful to be accepted and hired into this league. It seems like a solid league led by strong, dedicated commissioners and a loyal, committed group of managers. This is what I like.
For the Ducks, we have a long road ahead of us yet. Some would look at the roster and beg to differ. Over the next 24 hours, we'll enter negotiations and talks of interest with opposing organizations. We're going to evaluate our roster and truly bring about an image for the Ducks organization. I'll be up front. I love talking trade and am always open to do such. I can be easy going - quick dealing or a hard ass with a heavy foot and stubborn mind. If the player isn't for sale and you want him, best bring your cheque book.
I'm anxious to get the ball rolling - so let's have a good off-season. Feel free to fire me a PM on here at anytime and I'll do my best to respond ASAP. I'm very busy at work, so a number won't be given out - nor will Facebook (seen in rules). My email has been provided though!
